Creativity plays a major role in my life and education through various professional and personal projects. I have been involved with ThePeriod School, where I served as an illustrator for published materials and collaborated with others to bring curriculum to local students. Additionally, through my business Ora’s Art, I have worked with many different groups to teach classes and develop creative resources. These experiences have allowed me to use my artistic skills to complete professional works and lead hands-on projects.
My creative work is defined by a blend of professional illustration, business leadership, and community education, driven by the belief that art should empower and inspire. As a published illustrator, I completed the artwork for the book Momma’s Magical Miracle Milk in 2021 and later designed and illustrated the Period Empowerment Circle GrowGRAM book, which was published in 2024. Through my business, Ora’s Art, I have established a professional brand identity and developed original "Artful Academics" curriculum that bridges science and art for young learners. Beyond my own studio work, I have successfully shared these skills by teaching art classes to over 20 students ages 4–16 at my co-op, leading workshops on projects that encourage young artists to visualize their personal strengths.
Girls are often not taught about their periods because of the stigma surrounding menstruation. This reality inspired my mother to create ThePeriod School, an organization dedicated to providing accessible and empowering menstrual education. Through my long-term involvement with ThePeriod School, I have contributed as an illustrator for the Period Empowerment Circle GrowGRAM book, using my creative skills to support a published educational resource. In addition to my artistic role, I assisted with implementing curriculum at Howard B. Stroud Elementary School in Athens, Georgia. By participating in school programs and community events, I have seen firsthand how creativity can be used to challenge stigma, educate communities, and empower others in meaningful, hands-on ways.
